The nasolabial fold runs diagonally from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth. This crease tends to become deeper with age and creates an unwanted shadow. The nasoliabial fold can be treated with fillers. The first approach is to injecting along the cheekbone which lifts the cheek and subsequently lifts the fold. The second approach is to inject dermal filler along the nasolabial fold to reduce its depth. There is a fine balance with this approach as injecting too much filler directly in the nasolabial fold can result in a “pillow face”.
